COWBOYS WHO CARE
We are 100% volunteer 501c3 organization that is dedicated to provide smiles, support and free new, specially made cowboy and cowgirl hats to boys and girls across America with cancer or other life-threatening illnesses. It is our belief that there is nothing more precious than a child’s smile. We have found that cowboy hats help create those beautiful smiles. It is our belief that a cowboy hat is still a symbol of bravery, honor and now with your help, compassion
Our Story
Cowboys Who Care Foundation was inspired by the story of a young fan named Ashley Miller from Celina, TX, who bravely battled a rare form of cancer. Her journey touched many hearts and motivated the foundation to help other kids facing similar challenges.
In 2010, the foundation reached out to Resistol, and together, they have given away a little over 10,000 hats since its inception in 2012. In 2023, Daren Peterson was named the president of the organization as Resistol took over the daily operations to reach and benefit even more kids.
Ashley’s smile, her strength, and her spirit will always be in our hearts. She inspired a movement, and she will never be forgotten.
THESE ARE THE REAL DEAL RESISTOL COWBOY & COWGIRL HATS!
It was important to us to get the kids a REAL cowboy & cowgirl hat. It’s not a hat that you would win at a fair or festival in a ring toss. No, we wanted to give them something that would last—something that when they look at it 20 or 30 years from now, they will smile knowing they kicked their illness in the butt!
The company that answered the bell first and has been our biggest supporter is the great folks at Resistol. They have been just UNBELIEVABLE by donating thousands of hats to us. And they don’t just give us one style; they give us 10 to 15 different styles, each with 3 or 4 different hat bands—all with that wonderful Resistol quality. So next time you buy a hat, remember Resistol—they live it every day!
